Although I did not purchase my watch from Amazon I habitually use the reviews here so I thought I’d post my review of this timepiece.

Not only is this my first Oris watch, but it is also my first in-person experience with the brand as well (no one I know have ever owned a watch from this company). I was looking for a nice everyday watch, something dressier than my Bertucci field watch (which is also an amazing timepiece) but not gaudy or over the top fancy since I’m not a fan of gold/diamonds/etc nothing against that look but its just not my style.

When my watch arrived I was immediately taken aback by the looks and detail of the watch – the pictures online looks good but they do not do the watch justice. Also, its a fairly large watch – I’m a big guy so that was one of the selling points for me, but its so large that my girlfriend (who borrows just about everything of mine) commented that she would never borrow this as its way too big and heavy for her (another plus . Its a fairly unique looking watch in the details and I’ve received many compliments in the past several weeks from friends and co-workers.

The only downside I’ve found so far is that the watch does not carry much of a charge – since this is an automatic you will have to either wear it daily or get one of those watch holders which continue to charge the watch by shaking when its not being worn. It will keep time overnight, but if you go a day without wearing it the watch will stop and you’ll need to reset it when you next put it on.

All in all, I couldn’t be more pleased with this purchase, looks and feels great, keeps accurate time and its not going to set you back like some other watches in the same class.

I own about ten watches – Seiko Sportua, Tag Heuer, Tiffany Mark, Tissot – and this Oris watch consistently gets the most compliments and looks from all people.

I think what sets this watch apart from all others is that its very beefy looking and doesnt look thin and fragile. Then, the rubber strap is something you typically only see on Casios, but more high end watch companies are offering it on sporty style watches. Finally the open case on the back is very nice to look at the movement.

Of all the watches I wear, I am asked about this watch by more people and I love showing it off.

Being an owner of such a fine watch is really awesome. I receive compliments above compliments every time I wear this time piece. The reasons why I like this watch are because of it’s big numbers. You can see them even without glasses. The inside of the watch is also made from carbon fiber. On vehicles, it helps the car loose weight, and on this watch it helps lighten it on your wrist; and with the titanium casing this watch feels like your wearing nothing. The downside however is this thing scratches very easily because of the titanium. However for an overall sports watch to go swimming, diving, or out on the boat on the fishing trip, this is one timepiece you cannot leave without. You can even get away with wearing a suit; with this watch on your wrist.

This is a very nice and unique looking watch. I haven’t seen any too much like this watch. I’ve had my watch over a year now maybe two. This watch has been with me to Iraq and Kuwait, It is still looking nice. I can wear it with just about anything and look nice in it. I do have one problem with the hidden clasp though. I don’t know if other owners have this problem or not. The clasp unlatches at the slightest bend of my arm, so I am contstantly reclasping. I think the clasp could have been a little more unsensitive. Other than that its a great watch, I do not regret buying at all. The reclasping sometimes just give me a reason to show the watch off a little more.

I bought this watch after looking at it for about 2 years. I’ve owned it 6 months now. This was my first “luxury” watch purchase and overall I’m satisfied. It’s a good looking watch and I often get compliments. However, I have three complaints. First is that it loses time, maybe 30 seconds a day. This bothered me more when it was new, now it’s just a minor inconvenience; 100 years ago, it might have been a more significant problem. Secondly, it would be nice to have a longer power reserve. Once again, not a deal breaker, but an inconvenience. Lastly and most significantly, I can feel some “roughness” in the bearing for the counterweight. This is the most disappointing part as I now question the quality of the internals. To recap, I’m happy with it, but if I was going to purchase again, I maybe would have went with the day-date version for less than half the price.

This watch is not only gorgeous, but substantive, heavy and well styled. It’s comfortable to wear, durable, and impressive by any measure. Mine gains a minute every four days or so, but it’s a small price to pay for an automatic watch that is as nice as any Rolex I looked at and doesn’t cost quite so much. My only caveat is the price. While it’s retailed at around 00, I wouldn’t pay a penny over 0. I purchased mine from a jeweler, who informed me that they had sold a bunch of watches to an internet dealer after water had damaged the boxes in their store during a flood. The watches were fine, but the warranties would not be in tact, and thus any repairs would be at the expense of the owner. Although the price was 00 in the store, I told him I had been looking online and was prepared to pay no more than 0. He took the offer and I got the watch. Moral: make sure you get what you pay for. It’s an automatic watch, which means it can run into problems with its mechanism, etc. You’ll want to make sure you have a warranty, paperwork, and a face to hold accountable if something goes wrong. Regardless, I couldn’t be happier with the timepiece.

Overall, a good watch…my only pet peeve is the adjustment that I needed to do for the strap to fit…the mechanical technology is interesting…the fact that the watch runs by the movement of your wrist is, in my book, great technology…you don’t need annoying batteries to run the watch!

Oris are excellent watches and reasonably priced. Amazon have been very processional being a reseller of a lot of these quality watches and also it is good to see that smaller shops are supported through Amazon.

I have ordered two watches through Amazon and believe that the service is exceptional.

The Oris Williams F1 watch is perfect formal watch that can be worn as a ’suit’ watch or special occasions watch. Very well crafted automatic watch with precise Swiss movements and a glassed frame back that allows you to see the mechanics of the watch. Note also Oris swivel wheel (back of watch) that will (if worn regularly) keep the time precise rather than winding watch frequently.

So wear watch with well pressed shirt, Armani pants and good shoes. Make sure watch is visible whilst sipping on quality Tequila or Vodka. Then look at what lady’s are sitting in the bar are doing, maybe they are checking you out – this Oris watch could just be the dealbreaker.
